A Família do Lado, projeto transnacional criado em 2004 na República Checa, tem sido adoptado por vários países europeus com resultados bastante positivos. Em portugal é desenvolvido pelo Alto Comissariado para as Migrações (ACM) e conta com o apoio de organizações locais, entre elas o SPEAK e a Associação Fazer Avançar!
Trata-se de um conceito que resulta num almoço convívio entre duas familias de cultura diferente – cada família aceita acolher em sua casa uma família que não conheça, de cultura ou nacionalidade diferente, para um almoço convívio típico da sua cultura, estando assim a ajudar a promover a diversidade cultural, a eliminar barreiras e a colaborar no processo de integração dos imigrantes residentes em Portugal.
Os encontros vão decorrer no dia 23 de novembro as 13h em todo o país e em todos os países associados à realização desta iniciativa.

Next Door Family 2014
The Next Door Family is a transnational project created in Czech Republic in 2004 and has been adopted by several European countries with very good results. In Portugal it is developed by the Alto Comissariado para as Migrações and counts with the support of a few local organizations, SPEAK is one of them!
It is a concept that results in a living together lunch between two families of different cultures – a family accepts welcome into their home a family of a different culture or nationality who does not know, for a typical convivial lunch of their culture. Thus, helping to promote cultural diversity, eliminating barriers and collaborating in the integration process of immigrants residing in Portugal.
The meetings are going to take place in the 23rd of November at 1pm all over the country, and in all countries that have adopted the initiative.
If you want to give your contribute to the integration process of immigrants residing in Portugal, join in with your family! Or maybe you are an immigrant who would like to have a chance to know better Portuguese culture and make new friends… if it is so, sign your family in!
